On the eve of Mother’s Day, audiences were treated to an intimate performance by OperaQ favourites Emily Burke and Hayley Sugars presenting cherished operatic favourites in a morning of beautiful melodies, backstage stories and an appearance by VERY special guests – their adorable children from 8 weeks to 2 years.
Queensland’s opera audiences know Emily and Hayley as vivacious and accomplished opera singers with gorgeous voices and fabulous careers on stages across Australia and Europe. What you don’t perhaps know is that the duo are also good friends who trained together at OperaQ. Beneath the glamour and discipline of their opera lives, Hayley and Emily share a wicked sense of humour!
Emily and Hayley will share with you some of their favourite arias and music theatre numbers, including some of opera’s most luscious duets, such as the flower duets from Madam Butterfly and Lakmé. Special guests, including the charming Guy Noble and award-winning tenor Bradley Daley, will join Emily and Hayley on stage combining their talents for a memorable show.
